The Pearl SC Predilation Catheter is a standard balloon dilation catheter with a balloon near the distal tip. One lumen is used to inflate the balloon with contrast medium; the other lumen allows use of a guidewire to facilitate advancement of the catheter into and through the stenosis for dilation. The product is offered on a rapid delivery platform. The distal end of the catheter has a standard nylon balloon that has radiopaque markers to facilitate positioning of the balloon in the stenosis and is designed to provide an expandable segment of known diameter and length at a specific pressure. Balloon diameters are available from 1 mm to 4 mm, and balloon lengths from 5 mm to 40 mm.

The predilation catheter is intended for a minimally invasive procedure to remove occluded coronary arteries, allowing blood to circulate unimpeded to the heart muscle.
