The Rapid Exchange/RX “NC xperience” balloon catheter is intended for dilatation of the stenotic portion of a coronary artery or stenosis of bypass grafts in order to improve myocardial perfusion and for post-dilatation of stent implantation in the area where it has been placed to help position it against the arterial wall and improve angiographic results.

Two radiopaque markers are installed at each end of the balloon to mark its length and to help the user track the device while inside the patient. The distal part of the catheter is covered with a durable hydrophilic coating (HYDRAX), which minimizes friction and improves catheter tracking. The catheter ends with a conical tip, which has a rounded and atraumatic shape to avoid damage to the arteries during its advancement. The proximal part has a Luer-type bushing for attaching various devices.
